Baseball Team of 1893-Fairmont Neb

I obtained an old photo of the Farmers Baseball team of 1893 from Fairmont Neb. Does anyone know anything about the team, the "league" it may have played in. Hope someone can enlighten me. Hope this is NOT lost in history.Love this era of baseball, town teams playing for THE LOVE OF THE GAME!!!

If you can access Interlibrary Loan near you then you can search to see if the town had a newspaper, or if a neighboring city did (find out where they are on a map). Your library or college library can then request the loan for you and you can read the newspaper for reports of games they played. You might find out a few of the players later played professionally.

Another way to learn about the team is to contact a newspaper in that area of Nebraska to see if their sports department knows anything that can help you. Or you can hope someone here is from that area and can be of better help to you. Good Luck!

Sorry, I forgot to add you could read the newspaper on microfilm from Interlibrary Loan. You won't get the actual paper of course!
