  • Is there any register of baseball activity during the Mexican War in soldier camps?

    Hi:

Im researching about the first beaseball game on Mexican soil.
And Im a little bit suspicious about the Mexican War being the scenario for the first baseball game as long as there are are baseball registers in Texas in that period.
If you know something about this, please let me know..

    Thnx so much,
    César

    César, here's one passing reference:

With more than 250 years of history and hospitality to its credit, Alexandria offers an array of historic and cultural attractions. Alexandria's many historic homes, churches, businesses and museums allow residents and visitors alike to experience the hand of the past that makes our city the charming and historic town it is today. Visit City of Alexandria museums and historic sites and discover our past, present and future!

But aside from that, my quick Net search didn't turn up any real linkage. There's one mention on ericenders.com that talks about a game -- probably apocryphal -- in 1847 (using Santa Anna's wooden leg as bat?!). There are mentions of Abner Doubleday's service in the war, but talk about apocryphal...
