  • 2 Seam Fastball

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my 2 Seam Fastball doesn't break at all. I rest my fingers on top of the parrelel seams at the narrowest point, don't hold it all the way into my palm.. just until the first section of my fingers [closest to the palm]

It reaches 65-67 MPH but does nothing.. looks like a 4 Seam

    HELP

i didnt think it did either

when i was in little leagues and middle school, i threw in the 60s, and i didnt think it did anything either. it was my only pitch for 6 years

but if you get batters out swinging than it most definitely is doing something.

i'm a freshmanin high school, and mine is my out pitch.

try throwing it with your fingers inside the seams.

but are u holding the ball pointer and middle on top and the thumb directly below or a little on the side of the ball?

My 2-seam is my best pitch. I find that I get my best movement doing 2 things.

              1. My fingers together, inbetween the seams.

              2. My arm angle more 3/4ths.

I also find that I get more movement on the inside part of the plate to righties.

here is a shorten video of my last outing.

I got sinking/tailing movement when the ball was down, but the few times I left it up, the 2 seamer was pretty flat.

i throw a 2 seam, it moves any where i want it to because i have a sick pitching coach. i used to throw mine and like you it would be flat until he showed me the right way to chcuk it. if u want it to go inside on a right put ur middle finger on the outside of the left lace and ur ur index finger oon the inside of the right lace and put as much preassure as u can on the tip of ur index finger. works for me man. can't tell u how many bats it breaks if u do it correctly
