  • Collegiate Summer Leagues

Is it the norm in the most prestigious summer collegiate leagues (those with large numbers of D1's and top Juco prospects) for teams to have retention problems during the course of the season? I looked around at some leagues and saw teams were constantly bringing in new players, and my son heard around the grapevine that many players in some of those leagues are on one month contracts (for a two month season). He is under the impression that in the case of pitchers, short time has to do with injury avoidance.

Are there examples of top leagues that don't have retention issues?

    Thanks.

Usually the college coach is going to dictate usage for his pitchers. So you'll get guys coming and going.
