SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. - A 14 year-old athlete was hospitalized and another teen is under investigation for assault after a Memorial Day weekend baseball game turned violent.
Across Snohomish County, select teams were playing for a chance to qualify for a national tournament.
This baseball game ended with an act of sportsmanship, with players on both teams lining up for high-fives. But instead of a high-five, one player punched another athlete in the face.
"The video says it all, and you can see the kid reel back, load up and just cold-cocked my kid - blindsided him," said the parent of the 14-year-old.
Worried about reprisals, his family doesn't want to be identified.
The teen ended up in the ER with a stitched upper lip after the punch.
