    Many of you know that I am a huge fan of college baseball summer leagues. (if you didn't, check out my site in my sig)

    Anyway, within this thread, I will attempt to highlight some of the outstanding individual performances out there in summer ball.

    In Northwoods League action yesterday Eric Nielsen (Purdue) had a great game for the Madison Mallards. He went 3 for 5, with a run an 2 rbi's.

    Evan Sharpley (Notre Dame) went 1 for 4, with a homer for the Bombers of Battle Creek last night as well.

      In KITTY League action last night, Springfield College star Kurt Dudley had a great night for the Fulton Railroaders. He went 1 for 4, with a grand salami, 1 run scored and 4 rbi's.

        Pitcher of the Game in the Northwoods League yesterday---Chris Sale (Florida Gulf Coast). In relief, he pitched 7 scoreless innings. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2. He also fanned 8 batters to get his first win of the season.


        Hitter of the Game was Keith Castillo from USC. In a DH, he went a combined 4 for 7, with a double and homer.

          In Northwoods League action, PJ Polk (Tenn) went 4 for 5 for the Loggers last night. Keith Castillo (USC) continued to swing a hot bat as he had 2 more hits, and slugged his 2nd homer of the season for the Beetles.

            Northwoods League action for June 1

            Greg Smith (UNC Greensboro) pitched a heck of a game for the Alexandria Beetles. He picked up the win by throwing 6 solid innings. He only allowed 1 unearned run on 1 hit. He walked 3 and struck out 2 batters.

              Hitter of the Night in the Northwoods League

              Anthony Balisteri (Virginia Tech)--He plays for the Rochester Honkers. Anthony went 3 for 3, with a homer, 2 doubles, 3 runs, scored and 1 run.

              There were a ton of great performances, check out my blog for the list.

                Fort Collins Foxes defeated Cheyenne Grizzlies last night. Bret Fanning (New Mexico) went 3 for 4 with a double last night.

                  June 1st, KITTY League action

                  Nathan Wright (Travecca Nazarene) went a cool 5 for 5 for the Tradewater Pirates. He scored 4 runs, knocked in one, had a double and also stole a base.

                    Northwoods League action for June 2:

                    Cory Vaughn (San Diego State) went 4 for 5, with a double, stolen base and rbi for the La Crosse Loggers. He is the son of former MLB'er Greg Vaughn.

                        Anthony Sosnoskie (Virginia Tech) is the Player of the Game for the Southern Collegiate Baseball League. He currently plays for the Lake Norman Copperheads. Anthony went 3 for 4, with 2 doubles, 1 run and 1 rbi.
