  • Long toss

This question is in regards to position players:

I am a new Head Coach, and have a question.

I am drawing up our first outdoor practice plan, and ran into a bit of an issue. I believe that long toss does strengthen your arm, as well as helps it get loose. However, I feel that if you are trying to build up arm strength, your arm should be pretty taxed out after the long toss. Does it make sense to long toss before practice during the warmup, if you are having a fairly heavy throwing practice? Or should I wait and let the players toss at the end so that they can judge better on how their arm feels at the end?
This is for the 15U age group, travel ball.

You should put this in the coaching 101 section.
