Grant Baseball Academy Takes Home TBS Title

I'm very familiar with that successful program and know one of the coaches and many of the kids who've gone through the program, which is based in Oakland, California. It's comprised of primarily inner-city African-American kids of modest means and it's a joy to watch them play at a high level, even when I coached against them. And, one thing they have to overcome, alas, is some blatant racism when going up against some rural, lily-white squads - there are very few black players at top levels of baseball, unfortunately.

I would have liked to have seen them destroy Phenom if they had gone to NYBC..and play Banditos for the title.

Youth1.com just posted an article about the Travel Ball Select championship. Grant Baseball Academy won it all and may be named the #1 team...
