I neglected to mention last weekend, in the interest of accuracy, the thread title has been reverted to omit the Hard Rock Stadium moniker. The Marlins actually never played in Hard Rock, so the name is extraneous here.

I didn't realize this - for the Saints/Colts Superbowl, they set up auxiliary enclosed press/luxury boxes at the top of the stadium. You can zoom in on the area at the link.

You can see the usual outdoor auxiliary press seating in the area behind home plate, so I'm assuming the structure on top is a set of temporary suites? I've never really seen that before.

Does anyone know if the tennis courts they put in the parking lot for the Miami Open are permanent? And if they are, what the hell do they do will all of them?

How true that is Matt. Imagine how much $$ went into heaters and clear tarp to cover even 1/4 of USBank Stadium over the past winter before the roof was completed.

Nowadays, you can't tell the stadiums without a scorecard.

The Perfect Vodka Amphitheater in West Palm Beach has gone through about as many name changes in the same period of time...

I was there that night, what a mess! Was high & dry in the WPLG10 box down the lf line.

I can't wait to see this on tv and hear how loud it will now be. Before the place just seemed like misery to endure a NFL game on Sundays.

With the upper and lower decks pretty much attached too - all that noise will be kept inside the place.

I believe the top picture was taken from what was home plate. Crazy to think baseball was played there; especially crazy to think that place hosted two World Series too.

You wouldn't even need humans for that. The Sun's movements are known exactly at any time. You theoretically should be able to program something to be in the exact right spot at all times.

Wembley sounds interesting. I'll check it out.

Yeah they shade doesn't matter at night for the super bowl its for the rain.

I still think you can make metal pieces that rotate and go up and down at the right time or controlled by humans, as the sun moves. Its just the issues of maintenance.
