Looks a lot like the set up of Dolphins Stadium.

Does anyone have any pictures of Armour Field which was proposed for the White Sox before they built New Comiskey? That place had a wacky design. The layout was a lot like the Polo Grounds, with very short foul lines jutting straight out to a very deep and expansive center field.

Wait, I did find one of Armour Field:

Sure is different than New Comiskey.

This was actually supposed to be built on a bridge over the Monongahela.

This one was actually seriously considered, but apparently the foundation couldn't hold the dome weight.

After reading about this Armour Field I think it would have been real cool. It seemed like a much better proposal than New Comiskey. An old ballpark type feel with a polo grounds type field, that's really cool. But then again u never know what something is going to be like until it's built and well established.

Even though I am a Yankee fan, I absolutely love the "new" Fenway design. I would love to see that stadium built. The politics in Boston are a very big hurdle and the Red Sox aren't doing too bad with the current version. They could be doing better though ($$$) with the "new" version.

Interesting! That is the first time I ever saw a rendering of the proposed domed stadium for the Brooklyn Dodgers. That would have been the first cookie cutter stadium. What is also amazing is that they probably would have been looking to build something along the lines of Citi Field had they stayed in Brooklyn.

Was there ever a formal stadium proposal for the New York Giants?

I also like the new Fenway design, it pays alot of homage to the old ballpark but gives the Red Sox a serious upgrade. I don't anything about Boston politics, but I agree that they could've made alot of money off of the new stadium. Although as a Yankee fan I guess it's a good thing they didn't build it, less money to the Sox, and less Red Sox fans in there stadium.
