  • Labatt Park Model

Paid a visit to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Marys, Ontario - in the window of their admin office they have one of the 2 models of the never-built Labatt Park (original version). The larger and complete model of the same version was partially destroyed by vandals severals years ago (Have Bud and Loria ever been to St. Marys?).

There's a labbat park in London Ontario it a perrty sick stadium. I have played on it once and the grass is so nice. It used to host the london independent league team. Brett gray a pitcher from whyoming who played for london had a 23 strikeout game at that park.

Construction of Labatt Park in Montreal was supposed to commence in 1999 and ready for the 2001 season. In-fighting between members of the consortium that ran the team and various levels of government doomed the project - they were approximately $40-$60 million short on their financing at the time they scrapped the project. A 2nd version was proposed after Jeffery Loria took over the team but that went nowhere.

Too bad they didn't produce a model with more detail.
