It seems the thread which had been around for many years is gone. This was all I could find archived:

I can only presume a staff member accidentally deleted it? Was the site being revised? Threads and posts have disappeared during updates, but otherwise things don't vanish.

Anyway, there ought to be a place to post about Shea Stadium. It was a wonderful place to watch a baseball game. The best Mets history happened there.

Of course, this was what Shea Stadium and Flushing Meadows Park looked like during the World's Fair, around when Shea opened. I think it was taken from the NYS Pavilion. Anyone have any other Shea memories or pictures? Please post them.

I recently read this article and while I truly believe that Mrs Payson should have her name in Citi Field , it should have been next to William Shea on the wall at Shea Stadium . I figured this would be a good first post on Shea’s new thread .

Sadly, where the original thread went has been a mystery for about a year. I was very vocal about it when it was first discovered missing, so the mods and admins have been aware of it, but no one has come forward with any knowledge and there doesn't seem to be any way to restore it.

It's really unfortunate. As is evidenced by your link to the wayback machine, that Shea Stadium thread was one of the site's largest threads, with posts and pics found nowhere else.

I wish I had more information about it.
