  • Beijing 2008 Olympics Wukesong baseball fields

This looks like it will be interesting. Should be a good final go around for baseball. USA team took the world cup at the end of last year so they should be good if too many don't get taken up to 40-man roster (i.e. Longoria, Ruggiano).

Speaking of the fields, they are/were done by the same guy that did Minute Maid and the new Nationals Park. Murray Cook. He also did 2000 in Sydney and 2004 in Athens. I think one of the three parks is complete because they held a tournament there recently, but I don't think it's the main one.

Look what I found. Apparently the Dodgers/Padres series over there was played at the Wukesong facility. Here's pic I snagged off of MLB.com. Appears that the complex is complete and ready to go for August.

I don't think the batters eye was in the original plans. I also don't think they planned on metal bleachers, but at least the bleachers have nice seats and aren't your standard flat backs. That giant building beyond centerfield is the basketball gymnasium.
