Y'all are pretty lucky folk.

I've never played, let alone been on the field, of any major league or minor league ballpark.

Strike that--I did get a chance to walk around on the field at Holman Stadium/Dodgertown. On one of my in-state road trips, I stopped by the venerable spring training site. No one was around but the gates to the field were open, so I snuck onto the field--got to stand at home plate and imagined how many famed major leaguers had stood at that same home plate over the decades.

Does batting practice at Fenway count?

The worst place to play: Old Goodland Field in Appleton, WI. Directly behind the infield dirt was a drop that was the heigth of a complete baseball. You would nightly see a fielder run past the lip of the infield and see the body be jolted as they failed to remember the drop.

Also: thanks for posting the photos from Newark. That looks like a great place. I have been to the opponents' fields in CT and NY which are very nice as well, but never made it down to Jersey.

If we're including fields we've actually been on, I've been on Texas A&M's Olsen Field NUMEROUS times. I've also been on the field at Baylor Ballpark, and by the end of the year I should also have Sam Houston State's, and Texas's Disch-Faulk added to my collection.

It looks similar to Comiskey Park in the early 70s, when the grass portion of the field that was surrounded by the plate and infield was artificial turf and the outfield was natural grass.
