USA TODAY delivers current national and local news, sports, entertainment, finance, technology, and more through award-winning journalism, photos, and videos.

The New York Yankees announced today that two fans were arrested during Tuesday’s Opening Day game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium for attempting to steal Stadium bunting and causing damage to the bunting and façade.

Both fans were charged with attempted larceny and criminal mischief. Each charge is punishable by up to one year imprisonment and/or fines. They were detained and booked by the New York City Police Department and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The Yankees have also revoked their season ticket accounts.

“The Yankees look forward to making this final season at Yankee Stadium a magical event for every fan,” said Yankees Chief Operating Officer Lonn Trost. “This type of destructive behavior will not be tolerated from the first game of the season through the last.”

I got out fine with the seatback I took. Just brought two wrenches and screwdrivers with the right bits.

Seatbacks are easy. The plastic seats are easier to take in entirety. But the metal seatbacks are also easy to remove.

Then just bring an elastic belt, put seatback under jacket and strapped to your back.

      Piece of cake.

did you really take a seatback?

if you did, what section was it in? When I get tickets, I don't wanna sit in a seat with no back.

There is a police station outside of Yankee Stadium. I don't about Shea Stadium. I don't steal. Please don't steal. Stealing is against the law. And thou shall not steal is one of the Ten Commandments.

There's a NYPD substation inside Shea Stadium, just inside the Press Gate.
Please help. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer last summer, and now I'm in a position where I need financial assistance. For the full story, please check out my GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/3874ea2d. Thank you.
