stadium tours at citi field and yankee stadium?

i was wondering if the new stadiums will have stadium tours when they open next april/ early may? my sports marketing teacher wants to go to the stadiums next year but it has to be in april or ealry may cuz we graduate in june...and ill be a senior next year. i dropped out of an unneeded spanish class nxt year so i could get my possibly only way of getting to the new stadiums in the next 5+ years. any on know if they will have tours when they open, we going to philly and possibly fenway but the new stadiums would be awsome to end my senior year of high school.

I'd say they'll probably have tours of both stadiums as soon as they can.

I read that the Yankees are going to do the same thing. They were going to use this day to use as a test run for employees dealing with crowd management, plumbing and concession services.

I did not read anything about the Mets - but I do think that these test runs are a common practice when new stadiums are open

Yes they will defiantly hold tours in the new Stadium. Remember The City of New York owns the stadium, if you look at the parks department website, you can see that they have plans to start disassembly in 2009. Once the Yankees vacate the Stadium, which I believe they must be out by the end of December, the city takes over the Stadium. So the Yankees will have no authority to conduct tours in the old Stadium. They also have no control over the planned NHL game to be played there.

The Tours officially stop on September 19, and may restart after the post season, but no one is sure yet if and when.

Also in response to the earlier post about the Yankees making money on the tours, look at the tours section of the website. Proceeds for tours go to The Yankee Foundation, not the Yankees, Checks are made to the Foundation not to the Yankees. The Yankees Foundation is the non-profit arm of the Yankees used for charitable reasons.

I hope this clears things up a bit.
