  • What's with the brown ivy?

They just showed highlights of the Cubs game on ESPN, and I noticed the ivy looks brown.

    It's usually green, obviously.

Why is this? Is it always brown early in the season?

Spring just started, mother nature does her thing when she can.

Or hopefully Roger Bossard poisoned it

It usually doesn't start growing and greening up until early to mid May.

Yech! The top picture indicates that Tom Arnold sang the stretch that day.

You have to remember it was only 2 weeks or so ago, they had a snow storm. I think it got warm, then cold again and prematures the ivy. It should be green again by 1st week of June

what's up with those seats that arent facing the field? It looks like theyre facing the center field bleachers.

Those seats are obviously aligned with Waveland Avenue, and I'm going to guess that they're that way because they can get more seats on the roof that way than if they tried to angle them to face the field.

[Snark warning ON] Why doesn't some developer just do the obvious thing, buy one of the buildings across the street, knock it down, and erect a 20-story tower like we all know they want to? [Snark warning OFF]
Please help. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer last summer, and now I'm in a position where I need financial assistance. For the full story, please check out my GoFundMe campaign at https://gofund.me/3874ea2d. Thank you.

Those are rooftop seats. They're outside the stadium and across the street.

They face that way because they're built straight on top of old apartment buildings. They're supposedly privately owned and not affiliated with the cubs.

It's basically already been said, but the ivy always looks like that for the beginning of the season until it starts growing again.

I'm glad he's aligned himself with Cubs fans and WGN.

                        You can keep him

But-for the likely neighborhood zoning restrictions, that probably would have been done already at this point.

UPS is sponsoring the ivy this season. It will be brown all year.
