RYS to NYS: "Obi-Lonn never told you what happened to your father."

NYS: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him - in the 1970s!!"

RYS: "No, I am your father..."

NYS: "No, it's not true, that's impossible!!!!"

RYS: "Look beyond my respirator pods and my upper crown; you know it to be true!

(anyone else hear Jon Miller refer to "the ghost of Whitey Ford" during today's Yankees game? Whitey's still with us, Jon.)
Now this is some funny stuff!

I heard that the white facing in this picture in the last post (the back wall, under the frieze) has started to be peeled off. Any eyewitness of this or pictures?

                        • some of the exterior panels are already starting to come down. Tom Kaminski grabbed some images in Chopper 880 this morning.

But in seriousness. I wonder how they're going to do this. I guess they will tear down the bleacher section first so that they have room to get trucks in and out.

yeah, it probably makes sense to tear away the parts closest to the subway first then "expand" the sidewalk there so the trucks can just sit and wait for the rest of the place to come down.

                              • At least opening up the bleacher area first will allow some local fans to take and post some good pictures for the rest of us.

It's sad because the stadium still looks so modern and usable. But....I'm over it. I'll attend NYS for the first time on July 3rd, the day before my 40th birthday. My son Vincent DiMaggio will be 9 months old then and that will be his first game at YS, so a new era begins.
