  • Las Vegas Ballpark - Las Vegas NV

I came across this image at ballparkdigest. I couldn't find much info on it yet. It reminds me of Mile High Stadium.

Las Vegas should consider itself lucky to have not had that built.

That would have to be improved to be considered awful.

My neck hurts just looking at those seats down the foul lines.

Hey Las Vegas and HOK, the 1960's & 70's called, they want their crappy multipurpose stadium back.

Although, I will say that I find an HoK concept with a symmetrical field to be shocking. I wonder how they let that get by.

The sad part is that the marlins were trying to hold that over miami's head. LOL What a joke of a stadium!
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

Looks like a very comfortable place to enjoy a game. No overhang roof for shade, ballpark in the desert, yeah can't wait to go to a game there. Then again, i do go to games here in St.Louis in the sweltering summer humidity.

It looks like a sad marriage between Dolphin and Exhibition Stadiums.

At least they crammed all the luxury boxes onto one side....

Though what's there is extremely boring... That can't be the finished rendition. If you look closely, there is nothing holding up the upper deck concourses. You would think in todays market (especially in LV) there would also be quite a bit of building structure surrounding the stadium for restaurants, fanfare, and whatnot. Since it's vegas, you know that there would be an attached casino.

But yeah, the seating down the lines is horrible at best.

Yeah, I'm calling hoax. For the first time in this forum's history, everybody is in agreement on something. That would pretty much be the worst park in history.

You know what, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that at least it's different. Every ballpark today has some sort of roof, so the no-roof look would actually be different and interesting, sort of like the old ballpark in Arlington. Also, the left centerfield bleachers (although it looks very poorly done) would be different in that rightfield/right center would be completely open, maybe even lending views of downtown Vegas. At least admit that it's different and interesting/unique.

Edit: As a side note, I do not like the gigantic dugouts. I prefer smaller dugouts, like the Old Yankee Stadium ones.

I'm seriously begining to wonder if HOK just throws their ballparks together in Google SketchUp Pro... I think they do...
