Orioles5, just so you don't get concerned, I relocated the pic of Spring Mobile Ballpark to the thread that bears its name. All the same, thank you much for the contributions you've been making. You're a welcome addition to our fair site. :cap:
          Put it in the books.

How bad was the old south carolina stadium that they had to build a new one? I mean college sports usually hate doing that.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

Nice to see that Dedeaux Field has an updated scoreboard. I saw many a game there when I was a USC student from 1976-1981 (last time I went was during the 1998 season (last time USC won the NCAA championship).

You may be able to just make out a parking structure behind the right field wall. They very first USC baseball game I went to was an alumni game in February 1977. Many prominent ex-Trojans were on hand (Tom Seaver started for the Alumni, Dave Kingman played as well. Steve Kemp, who was an up and coming outfielder with Detroit, hit a HR onto the roof of that structure. At least 450 feet, probably more. I think that may have been the first time that had happened (Dedeaux Field opened during the 1974 season). Don't know if it's happened again, maybe McGwire did it (though that woulda been to the opposite field for him, and since he probably was not juicing when he was at USC, might've been beyond his reach the other way)
