A fellow member of SABR has queried me concerning some research he is doing on the Polo Grounds.
Apparently there were 7 memorial plaques in the Polo Grounds over the years. He is aware of 5 of them but needs to know the other 2.
The 5 he knows of are:
John McGraw NY Giant manager,
Christy Mathewson NY Giant pitcher,
Eddie Grant NY Giant good-field, no-hit infielder and the only
major-leaguer to die in combat during WWI
Al Blozis NY Football Giant tackle and killed during WWII - also
was an All-American at Georgetown
Jack Lummus NY Foorball Giant receiver and killed during WWII -
awarded the Medal of Honor
I must admit that I don't know and I am hoping someone here does. I will relay the info to him, giving you full credit.
Any help is appreciated.
