Coors opened in 1995, becoming the first baseball-only NL ballpark since Dodger Stadium. It was one of the first HoK Retro Parks, with the typical red brick, green steel design that actually fits in nicely with the LODO (Lower Downtown) District. I took some pics of the exterior during a recent vacation in Colorado. Enjoy...

Unfortunately, I didn't get a shot of with the Christmas lights on.
The LODO district was pretty nice. We checked out a lot of the local bars. All of them had really good deals for beer, which was a nice change from the LA bars.
Coors Field was one of those rare examples of a ballpark helping new development and gentrification. The LODO district used to be pretty shady, but now the place is filled with really nice condos, lofts, and restaurants.

Cool clock though.

With Miller and Coors joining forces, is there any chance the name might be changed????
EDIT: I guess Miller Park would have to change its name too, so that would be unlikely.Last edited by skobabe8; 12-02-2008, 10:34 AM.

As for the Coors Field interior, it's been done in just about every other HoK park since Camden. It's not bad, but it's also not interesting. Even the view of the mountains is pretty weak since most of them are behind 3rd base. What exactly do you like about the C.F. interior?

Wow and hok park that looks like another hok park lol. I like coors field because it matches their downtown vibe and rejuvinated the area. Unlike ballpark at arlington which matches nothing and rejunivated nothing. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
