Siebert Field - Univ of MN
Does anyone have pictures of this yet? Lafferty? From the local news story this morning it looked like the "dirt" part of the infield was fieldturf as well, and only the pitcher's mound and home plate cutout were dirt. Can anyone verify that?
Thanks!

...And this is part of the reason why the Gophers have been so reticent to play at the old Siebert Field:
Siebert Field starts its own demolition
Over the weekend, one of the nine wooden poles holding up the huge black batter's eye behind the outfield fence toppled over. The pole on the far left -- looking from home plate -- fell onto the outfield grass, taking out one of the green wooden panels between the NCAA logo and the numbers 380, painted in white, indicating the distance to dead center.
"I'm just glad it didn't happen during our final game there versus St. Thomas," Gophers baseball coach John Anderson said. "It was awfully windy that night. Let's be thankful."

The baseball season is almost over so based on the weather they get what maybe 9 games here since most of college baseball in Minn. is probably really cold?

Not particularly, though I did find a PDF online that seemed to show a concept of a new Siebert & its layout (the new Siebert Field will be built on the site of the current one). Not sure of the date on this (it could be a bit outdated since there's been discussion on a new stadium for years). Here's that one:
Possible site layout
There are also a few sites that describe the plans (basically that demolition/construction is about to start, the new stadium will have artificial turf, and could be ready for some use by this autumn).

Siebert Field - Minneapolis MN
The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers' baseball stadium, Siebert Field, is hosting its last game on Tuesday, May 1st. The stadium has been rarely used in the past few years due to disrepair (resulting in many Gopher games at the Metrodome -- more than were already hosted there due to cold weather), and will be demolished as a new baseball stadium is set to be built. The Gopher Facebook page put up some historical photos:
