Baseball in the OC

Some really rare ballpark stuff in here - some good shots of the Big A going up - the only know photos of Babe Ruth pitching at the Brea Bowl - dozens more - I'm proud of it

An average person has no idea that OC stands for Orange County. When I first saw this title of this thread I had no idea what OC stood for. Too many abbreviations being used these days in my opinion.

It would be interesting to read, I never really thought of California as having a rich baseball history. (pre 1958) I think the abbreviation OC is pretty well known mainly due to that tv show a few years back. I did hear once and I think it was from here that the old Pacific Coast League was right up there with the Major League's for quality players. Not sure if the PCL would stretch down to Orange County though.

I think thats a pretty good idea for a book, especially with the population of Orange County being enormous and how big baseball has become out there. It's probably the perfect time to write a book like that. The babyboomers out there will love it and any baseball fan should too.
