  • Best current Ballpark

I know this is controversial an subjective but I still make a poll. while of course there is a bias for home parks you should try to ignore personal tem prferences and just judge the park (for example you can hate the yankees organisation but still like their park. this is not meant to belittle other parks but have a factual discussion but also expressing opinions which is also fine.

you can also write here which you like but then you should try to say why (design, functionality, facilities, field dimensions and hot dogs).

I don't know if there was a poll like this but since we have some new parks (mets, marlins) a new poll might be a good idea.

I'm using Tapatalk so if you've included a poll I can't see it. I've only been to 13 parks around the country, but my vote is for PNC. Even though it seats 38k it feels very intimate I think because the right field seats are right up against the river. Which takes me to my second reason, the view. I don't think there is a comparable view in all of baseball. While AT&T and Great American are also on the waterfront neither have views like PNC. The Clemente bridge and downtown in the background are great.

We've gone twice and each time we sat in the upper deck Pittsburgh Baseball Club seats. I don't handle the heat well so having the air conditioned concourse was a big help. The seats have a nice rise so you're not looking at the back of somebody's head and they're nice and wide.

Can't add anything that wasn't said by this...PNC is the finest park IMO...of course I may a little biased.

The problem with this poll is that I'd be willing to bet that almost no one on BBF has been to every park, and its kind of hard to have this kind of poll if you haven't been to every park.

Then again, you don't have to go to Tropicana or the Oakland Coliseum to know that they both stink.

Is it possible to create a poll in which each participant must select a quantity larger than 1 - perhaps 6 or 10 each?

I voted for Great American Ballpark, but would add these to the list:
            PNC Park
            Camden Yards
            Jacobs Field
            Target Field
            AT&T Park
            Fenway Park
            Wrigley Field
            Busch Stadium
Holding a pitcher accountable for how many runs his team scores is like holding the designated hitter accountable for how many runs his team allows.

An individual statistic is meaningful only if it is based strictly on what the player does and not on what the other players on his team do.

Contrary to what most baseball fans claim, a pitched ball which is hit into play is not a strike.

I voted PNC, but my top 5 are:
              1. PNC
              2. Camden
              3. Safeco
              4. Target
              5. AT&T

Fenway is a honorable mention too.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

yeah that's a little subjective we can only talk about parks we have seen or at least know about.

unfortunately I have never been in a park (I'm in europe). I'm surprised that Pittsburgh has such a good park. I thought more of the big markets would be mentioned.

Big Markets usually don't have good views and they are all modern stadiums these days is what I usually think of.

Wrigley Field is tops. I guess I'm biased towards history and old school baseball. Target Field is a distant 2nd place.

I voted for PNC Park simply because of the view. The bridge and city look magnificent. I havent been there yet but i would love to make it there sometime.

Safeco Field is second for me, I have actually been there to see several games and its just a great ballpark.

These are both good points. First, ultimately, it's virtually impossible for one to subjectively opine their favorite park unless one has been to each park. Second, although not as important, limiting the poll to one choice per voter has contricted the number of votes each park can receive in general, thus skewing the results by eliminating voters' ability to give a nod to their second favorite, third favorite, etc., up to their "x"th favorite park. Jmho. (To answer your question, BiZ, unfortunately, once a poll has been made, even a mod cannot change it from single choice to multiple choice. I wish I could.)

Just based on the first reason alone, I find it beyond my scope of experience to place a vote, for I've been to only four of the thirty parks listed (Citi, NYS, Fenway, and Miller). For the record, though, from those four, I'd have to choose Fenway, if for no other reasons but nostalgic and intimate atmosphere alone.

P.S. It's good to see PNC getting some good feedback. I've heard some really good things about it, and seeing it on TV, it looks like a great park.
                        Put it in the books.

PNC is a great ballpark, but how could it get 10 votes while Great American Ballpark has gotten only one vote. Is there something about red seats people don't like?

I think its a lot of things about GABP, the design is modern on one side and traditional on the other, the water is a brown color, and there is no downtown view from 99% of the seats. I like it though, its got its good things.

I had to vote for Wrigley Field on this poll because of the history and the neighborhood. When I first walked into Wrigley for a game last season, I felt like I was walking into the 1940s. Wrigley, and I would imagine Fenway although I've never been to Boston, ought to be in a separate category from all the newer parks. Of the new ones and of the ones I've been to, I would go with AT&T Park as the best just because of the way it's built on the bay. But I've never been to PNC or to Great American.
