I was wondering if anybody had any pictures of Winnipeg Stadium, now known as CanadInns Stadium, in its baseball configuration.
Built in 1953, the stadium is in its final year of use as the home of the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers as a new stadium on the University of Manitoba campus is being built. Last year (2011) was to have been the farewell season but construction delays at the new stadium caused the Bombers to have another "farewell" season.
I had seen some pictures where there was a baseball diamond adjacent to the football stands in the southwest corner of the stadium. The old baseball stands were there until the Blue Bombers decided to tear down the baseball stands and put a new clubhouse/locker room area there. The old baseball field is now a practice field, located between the main stadium and the now-demolished Winnipeg Arena.
In 1988, in hopes to get a AAA baseball team in Manitoba's capital city, the stadium was renovated. A new Astroturf surface that could handle baseball and football was installed (probably because in the cold weather of Canada a grass field for both sports would be costly to maintain, thus the installation of turf like Exhibition Stadium in Toronto decided to do when the Blue Jays came to town), and the East side stands had retractable seats installed, which could be rolled back to allow baseball to be played there. However, the stands behind the home plate area (Northwest Corner of the stadium) also served as the end zone seats, and they were 14 feet above the ground starting at the first row). The stadium's dimensions for baseball were (when the Northern League's Winnipeg Goldeyes played there), from Left Field to Right Field, 300-325-395-390-345.

If anyone has any additional pics, feel free to post them.
