    Seals Stadium - Scale Model

I have very recently completed work on a model of Seals Stadium. Seals was the home of the SF Giants in 1958-1959 before the moved into Candlestick Park in 1960. This model was done based on the 1958 configuration. The purpose of this thread is to share pictures of the model with all of the stadium aficianados on Baseball Fever.

Good stuff! The classic Seals white facade looks great.

Thanks. It was very fun to build this. I wonder, in hindsight, if I should have kept with the PCL theme.

Wow Great work! The lights look so real!
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

Brings back great memories! I remember when the Giants first played there in 58, listening to the Pirates broadcasts from the West Coast and Bob Prince describing Seals Stadium. It seated 22,000, if I remember correctly. The Pirates didn't televise any West Coast games then, so I never saw them play there- just heard he radio broadcasts.

Good job! Don't forget that many great players played there as Seals and their opponents, including Joe DiMag. I like how the exterior has an old, bumpy kind of look, like Old Comiskey.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Yankee Stadium. Here are the lineups for todays game...

Excellent work, kingfin! Very detail-oriented and, obviously, a true labor of love. Many thanks for sharing!

The lights do not work. The towers are made of styrene plastic strips (solid) cut into small piece and superglued together. The lights themselves are actually rhinestones. I like the translucent effect when light refracts off of them.
