  • Saints Lowertown Ballpark [proposed] - St. Paul MN

The other day, some new images of the soon-to-be-built St. Paul Saints stadium in downtown St. Paul were unveiled. Completion will be for the 2015 season.

Lowertown ballpark site report clears way for stadium; design shows it set in city

A few images of the stadium. Looking southwest into the skyline:

    Looking north-ish:

First look: St. Paul offers a new glimpse of the Lowertown Ballpark, Saints home

An older image that shows the location on the eastern end of the downtown, with I-94 on the northwest/3rd base side and the Lafayette Bridge (Highway 52) on the northeast/left field side:

      Wow looks great!
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.

The view from either of the bridges over the Mississippi are going to be fantastic Trouble is to and from is going to be a pain. That area of St Paul isn't entirely well known for it's ease of use to the main roads. Slight step up from the current place however.

Looks like a MAJOR upgrade over the stadium that the Saints are using now.

Are there train tracks near there? Will the PA announcer be able to go "TRAIN"?
"And the pitch bounced right side a base hit!! Here comes Gomez around third, there'll be no play!!! The Twins have won the Central!!!

There are trains running quite often about a block south of the site; running along Warner Rd, and US 52 and I-94 to the north, you should be able to hear the PA guy saying "Traffic Jam" or "Accident" quite often as well.
