Well, I like Rawlings. Wilson isn't too bad either, but Rawlings definatly takes the cake on this one.

McGreagor is the worst brand of equipment I have expereinced. Very cheap and you get what you pay for.

You must also realize that there are some brands that just relable other manufacturers product to fill up their equipment line.

I say Champro is the worst overall brand. The best for gloves/mitts is Nokona (or Nocona?). For wood bats I like LS, Easton for metal, Mizuno for plastic (not much competition there). Bike baseball clothes are great.

They sell a line of George Brett equipment here in The Philippines...it's horrible stuff.

My last two mitts have been McGregor's, and they've proven to be just fine, thank you. I don't recall either being very cheap at all, but no matter what the initial expense, no brand is going to hold up long if you don't take care of it, i.e., keep the leather oiled and out of the elements. My Easton chest protector (for umpiring) has worked out well, at least after I beefed up some of the padding right at the old shoulder bone area.

Nakona for gloves with out a doubt.

Louisville Slugger Bats, Easton Catching Equipment, Speedline Uniforms,
It's just throwing and catching and hitting and running. What could be simplier?

Stay away from Mizuno wood bats.

For amateurs I like Baum Bats. People say that they don't have as much of pop, but you can't break them and you don't lose that much in pop.

Aren't those the warmup bats with the red plastic shell?

You're thinking of the Bratt Bat. Baum bats are a composite bat.
