Can you please advice me on how to buy the perfect batting glove? If you could give some brands and their strengths and weaknesses, thanks.

I've worn some Nike gloves that are a bit thicker in the palm, just depends on what you want.
All 4 of those brands will hold up very well, but it all depends on how much you use them. The way alot of batting gloves rip early is by sliding with them on.
Hope that helps.

If you ever see Neumann batting gloves, I would snap them up. Nice, soft leather and a fantastic grip. Nike gloves always seems too slick to me. Franklins are OK, but don't seem to last and irritate my knuckles and the inner part of my thumb."I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial

[QUOTE=hiddengem]It depends on what type of feel you like. I would say the 4 most popular brands amond pro players is Franklin, Nike, Mizuno and Rawlings in that order. QUOTE]
Hiddengem, do you use pine tar or stickum on your gloves, or do you just use them clean?
I find that spit is a nice temporary adhesive, but my teammates tend to complain...even the ones who love to spray tobacco juice all over everybody else. I tell them to just stay away from my bat and they won't have to worry about it!!! I always gob up on my gloves good while taking dry swings in the basement to avoid ricocheting a two pound war club off the concrete wall right back into my own head...I lodged a bat in an apartment wall when I was younger, luckily it didn't rebound and I also missed the nearby sliding glass door.
Good luck for the upcoming season, BTW."I throw him four wide ones, then try to pick him off first base." - Preacher Roe on pitching to Musial
