  • Pitching

Since momentum pitching didn't work out for me like I thought it would I went back to my reg motion and worked on Triple Extention of the back leg. I have seen progess in arm action getting up in time and also my body gaining more momentum.

NOTE WATCH AT LANDING WHEN MY FOREARM GETS VERTICAL. IT'S IN LINE WITH THE MIDLINE NOW AND I PAUSED THE VIDEO TO SHOW THAT.

THe only thing I need to work on is balance and try not to lean back, I think it's a strength issue of the post leg and core which I continue to work on.

THIS PICTURE BELOW SHOWS THE ARM IS UP AT LANDING.

I could repeat the mechanics good enough like I wanted it was only something I tryed. I'm back to my normal self and it seems to be doing good. My arm action has changed back to normal and UP on time which is good.

Palo keep the smart remarks to your self they are not needed. Momentum Pitching works but I feel it will not work in the long run.

        Comment on current mechanics please

          RIstar,

How would it work, but not in the long run? You raved about "momentum" pitching just a few days ago and now you change back? WHY?

mostly because of consistency with the movements of the body. I found it challenging after a while to get good foot work.

I just feel that traditional pitching will work better for me. Also my arm action is better with the mechanics above then with Momentum pitching where IW is to close to landing and my arm doesn't get fully up.

Just stick with something. Nothing is gonna work in one day.

For the most part for last 2 months I have used traditional pitching I only for 2 day's tryed something different. Not a big deal it worked then it faded away.

does anyone have anything to say about my current mechanics above?

Looks a lot like your previous traditional mechanics. I don't like how much you reverse rotate your shoulders though. At about the 20 second mark on the slow motion video you look like you're going to throw to 3rd base.

Yes I do see that and I use the cross over step to counter balance everything else out. Also I find that the cross over step starts the hips rotating sooner then anything else.

Define the cross over step for me.

You don't want your hips opening too soon. They will rotate into landing, but you don't want it to happen too early (Yes I know they are open at landing).

Cross over step happeneds close to landing. It happeneds when the back leg Triple Extends meaning you push with the foot, knee and hip. It brings the movement all to the plate. When the foot goes to open the hips rotate and the back leg turns all the way down and in. All the weight shifts to the front leg mostly and the hips.

The front leg crosses over to face the plate a little before landing.

Cool man, just make sure you stick with triple extension for a while.

Still don't know how that offsets the fact that your shoulders line up to throw to 3rd at one point in your delivery.

Yeah for the 1st time I did Triple Extention and it seemed to help that key back leg turn over that starts the hips soon.

I've been sticking with it 98% of the time.
