nothing of what your saying is Epstein!! If he is using an older Epstein insrtuctor its possible he will not get off the backside as well, but he is not being taught to squish the bug either. There is no step 5 of 7. He might be on day 5, but he would be much more polished if he were on day 5. It is possibly the kid is not grasping what the instructor is teaching and is still confused on the new info.

After reviewing the website he has nothing to do with Epstein. And he is talking step 5. I would get that kid and his parents in a room and show em some videos.

What a waste of money, they probably took a good swing and ruined it.

          Step 5?

Oh please. Is a "7 step process" really the way to teach hitting? Do legitimate hitting instructors actually do this?

My method is to start with "grip it and rip it" and work from there.

7 or 8 years ago, It had been recommended that I take my son to a local batting coach. When I heard "7 Step Process," I ran very quickly from WCBS.

Today I gave batting advice to my 8 year old's teammate's dad. The 1st words I said to him were, "If anyone gives you or your son batting advice look at slow motion video of the best pros to make sure it's good information." I also referred him here.

This is great information, but unfortunately savvy instructors can point to professional hitters on tape and "show" the students/dads what he is teaching, and how it relates to a major league hitter (even if it doesn't).

We all know Yeager's work is not the same as Epstein, but to the uneducated parent and a good salesman/trainer, who could tell the difference?

Better to see the diversity here, then to listen to the coach that's telling the kids to squash the bug.
