I think the swing is based off of falling. Your are falling, but the momentrum in the swing of you bat and your front legs keeps you from a complete loss of balance for the split second you swing the bat. The faster or harder the controlled fall, the more controlled power you can focus in a swing. Vise Versa the harder you swing the harder you have to try to make a faster fall.

Falling with both feet is actually hard to do. In a ready position or even standing straight up, you pick up your both feet and let your butt fall straight towards the ground. Becareful not to hit the ground. I bet the first time you try this, you jump up before lifting your feet. No jumping allowed. That would ruin all the potential energy stored from gravity.

That swing is a very old ancient secret use by a secret group of people that is past down through generations. Only used in night games

Well I just changed my 8y/o son's swing today at the park with this of new hitting theary. We were hitting off a hitting stick, so we'll have to test it at the batting cages this friday. I like it, he seems to be able to put his weight into the swing. His old swing was enouth fast enough and fluid , but the ultra light bat gives it no mass, even though it had a fast bat speed. I guess I need to put it on video in here.

My basic cue for him is to swing and pick up his back foot. But not too swing fast. The swing is sorta slow at first so you can get in sync with the fall due to picking up the rear foot. Pick up the rear foot as you swing, then place it forward, back, or to the side.

I'd say the pros do this move... As there back hip and rear foot rotate, it does one more thing, it stops weight bearing the body, letting the body fall. The difference with pros and armatures is, the pros use this hip turn to control the swing, while armatures get pulled into the backside rotation as a result of the swing. The bat pulls them over.

              what I saw

At a minor league game last summer I saw a player in the bullpen taking dry swings on the pitchers mound.(downhill direction)...falling into his step and swinging. Helps get the back shoulder down he told me...???????????

Stepping down hill could facilitate the non-weight-bear of the rear foot earlier. And when the rear foot is not static anchor; its not weight bearing, its easier to tilt the trunk because your more mobile.

In pro swings, the rear foot appears to be non-weight-bearing during the initiation of the swing. In armature swings I notice the rear foot weight bearing during the initiation and becomes non weight bearing after the swing is initiated. Its very subtle.

This was one of the first posts I put up here. Now after 4 yrs and 1200 post later. I've made full circle into hitting. Made my son try all kinds of different hitting styles, some even crazy. Once I told him to stand on his head first - if you can see a ball upside down, it would be no problem right side up. He was also taking gymnastics on the side. No Im jk. But the swing changed a lot in 4 yrs. Top had - bottom hand, inside and out. Now I've come back to Nnnninja hitting . LOL. Whats the most powerful force on us? Not our hips or legs. Its gravity. Granted I now have a more informed batting view of gravity manipulation, or weight shifting, or falling like a ninja.

You mean something like this but with the weight back?
I saw a clip of clemente as well with his back foot way off the ground but all his weight was back on a stiff front leg.

Speaking of Hank's flaws: "In 1952, Hank led the Negro League with a batting average of .467 while hitting cross-handed."

^ I think this is interesting to think about when we start getting into the minutia of hitting mechanics.

These guys obviously have outstanding balance. That is such an important part of a good swing. Sadly, it's a part that is frequently overlooked.
