    I seen a lot of posts talking about hips, but it seems when people talk about hips in this forum , they are talking about the lower trunk, or the rotation of the pelvic. The hip is the rotation of the thigh to the pelvic.

    Yes, when we say turn the hips, we mean that the legs apply force to the hip sockets in a manner that causes the torso to rotate. The hip is actually the upper part of the pelvic area (iliac crest). The legs apply force nearer to the iliac spine.

    In talking about the swing the "hips" are a general term refering to the pelvic area.

        geometrically speaking yeas, but anatomically speaking it may not be so.
