You HAVE TO overstride to squat down and get to the ball because you swing is entirely TO LEVEL from the bat starting entirely TO FLAT.......

Get the bat up above your ear hole and learn to move the head down on an angular plane instead of squatting and swinging level.......

I thought having a level swing was the idea?

No, the swing should not be level to the ground.

          I agree.

I'm sorry to say this, but your swing needs a do-over (because you were taught wrong).

No major league hitter swings level to the ground, except on balls way up in the strike zone (which they probably shouldn't swing at). Instead, they tilt over the plate to hit balls up or down in the strike zone...

Here's a whole page of photos of hitters tilting over the plate...

Many people teach this, but they are wrong.

I suggest you compare every advice every given to you, then compare it to the video of the best. If it doesn't match what you see, then they are wrong.

                  Thanks for the advice.
I understand what you guys are saying.

Can anyone give me a good sound website where i can I can re-learn my swing?

Thank you very much for the assistance.

Video clips and detailed analyses of the swings and hitting mechanics of baseball and softball players.

There might be better sites out there, but I like studying the "frame by frame" clips Chris has posted. Might as well "re-learn" by watching (over and over again) the best in the business and emulate what they do.

I recommend Englishbeyhitting dot com. Others have varying opinions but I've studied all those too. Ended up with Englishbey.

Out of curiosity, who have you studied?

I wouldn't throw in the towel and go changing anything yet, on one view of your swing. Looks like a timing issue.

One big thing I see is to slow down some of that bat movement, while in your stance, I thought you were swatting gnats. Way to much movement, even for you "tip and rip" guys.

I went back and looked at some of your other videos, your biggest problem is the timing issue, and it starts with all that bat movement. Slow it down, or better yet, get rid of it, and that would clear up some of your problems.

I disagree.... every year, at the beginning of the year, I run into some timing problem.

The movement, unless waaay to much, doesn't really contribute to that.

IMO, the 2 main contributers to timing issues are...
                            - stride inconsistancies (pardon the spelling)
                            - changing swing/ new swing

The problem I see with all this bat movement, is it's all for not. It's a style, not an absolute, which is not a problem until it starts causing problems elsewhere, which it is.

If you notice, all the bat movement stops just prior to his stride, and then his hands "go dead", they are not going back, during his stride, into a load position.

My opinion is, if he were to settle the hands down and make sure they are moving back as he is striding, it would go along way in helping with further problems, the biggest being timing and an inconsistency in his stride length and placement.
