    That grip is rarely used by MLB hitters. Maybe 5 or 10 out of a hundred. Most line the top knocking knuckles up with where a ring would be on the bottom hand, or they use the box grip.

    Most hold the bat like the photo below, or they move the top knuckles over to where the black line is;

    Barry Bonds uses the "box" as did Willie Mays. Ted Williams also used it.

    Hank Aaron actually had the top knuckles on the side closest to his body.

    Take the bat with the front hand and place it on the other side of the plate. Bring the other hand to the bat and bring the bat over your head like you were chopping wood. That would be a good place to start.
    This picture has his knocker knuckles sorta lined up, but notice how the top hand is open and barely gripping the bat because in this position it feels awkward to hold the bat up with the knuckles lined up. IMO when he grips and rips his knuckles will line up. Aint it great that they make the batting gloves visually easy to see where the knuckls are!

    Do you see the ball at release? Track the first dab of white?
    If so, do you lose it with the stride?
    Cock & stride with every pitch? Early, easy, smooth?
    There might be bugs in there that overwork you later, tighten up the swing, and move your head etc.
    A suggestion was made about your grip; that's a Maybe worth testing.

    That could be. Without seeing your swing, I can't really say, but if you move your head up, down, or forward more than two inches, after your front foot gets weighted your chances of hitting the ball are reduced greatly. You MUST keep your head still unless you have to move it toward the plate to get a low outside pitch. Pros rarely move their head forward or up, or away from the plate. It's not a matter of keeping your head "down", it's a matter of keeping it pretty much in one place from launch of the bat, to contact.

    Just try to watch it hit the bat. Although impossible, it will insure that you do not pull up to early.
