I'm from Ohio. I am willing to travel though. I played HS ball, but got injured. I have no training, only knowledge about baseball, and I am looking for a place to learn where to be a baseball coach, and get qualifications.

The best thing you could do is catch on as a high school team's scorekeeper and volunteer to help in practice in any way possible. Then learn from the coach. See if you can coach summer rec ball in the 13-15 year old age group even if it's as an assistant.

If you're in Cleveland, there are plenty of high school and colleges who could use volunteer assistants. Are you still in college? That's how I got my start in coaching: my junior year at Ohio State, I was a student assistant with the Buckeye football team. Then my senior year, I volunteered with a local high school football team. Then once I graduated, I just worked my way up at the college level.

I would still go the volunteer route--most schools have already started, so you need to act now. Over the summer, help out with an American Legion team or some other summer program.

I have just been accepted for a course in the United States sports academy. It is a level 2 course in baseball, as I already have level 1. I have also been offered a position of head coach at my local little league team.

I am just doing that voluntarily for a few months, until I get my coaching level 2 and 3. Then I have been asked if I want to coach a HS team next season onwards. I am just doing this, as I am going to be writing 2 books in the summer. I am going to go to Minor League stadiums to write a baseball travel book, and also a book on little league baseball. The LL team is part of my research. A lot of travel miles lol

You're getting a job as a high school coach just because you took some courses on coaching? Geezzzzzz!!!!!
By the way, how does a hitter bat 1.944? 1.000 would be perfect assuming ot could be done. The same thing with OB%. According to your slugging percentate you hit averaged a triple or better per at-bat.Last edited by TG Coach; 03-22-2008, 02:18 PM.
