  • Busted a bat. Replace w/wood composite?

I broke my maple C271 in BP the other day (I had intended to get a cheap ash bat for BP, and I guess I paid for my laziness). It served me well for two seasons, but RIP.

I need to replace it, and my MSBL 40+ league allows composite wood bats, so I was thinking about getting one for durability reasons.

Any recommendations for a good wood composite bat? I was thinking about the Demarini D243 in a 33-30: http://www.demarini.com/demarini/pro...=1206978203152

My old bat was a 33-31 C271, nicely balanced. How does the 243 swing in comparison? (I used a teammate's Demarini D243 after breaking mine and it felt good, but this was just at BP speeds.) At an ounce lighter but more barrel-heavy, will bat speed for the 243 be similar to the 271? I liked the balance and feel of the 271, but a bigger sweet spot would be nice.

Any feedback on the Demarini D243 or other recommendations would be much appreciated.

You could go with the 110. It is a smaller barrel compared to the 243 and a little more balanced. I loved the Demarini. I used them in College and never broke one and it always felt solid and balanced. It's the best wood bat I had until I couldn't use them anymore.

Thanks, Jeep. I'll check out the 110, too. Sounds like Demarini is a good choice. I liked the way the 243 swung in BP, just want to make sure I'll be able to get it around well w/live pitching.
