I've heard good things from some people, and mixed reviews from others. I am looking to replace my A1000 Wilson outfield glove and Akadema's seem comparable and reasonably priced. As with everything I buy or plan to buy these days, I'm checking in with everyone here, to see if any one has any opinions, experiences or thoughts to share. Thanks a lot.

I think there is another post somewhere on this board about Akadema. Anyways, I have a catcher mitt made by them the Praying Mantis and I love it. The only problem that I have with it is that it started out really hard like it should but the leather now is really soft and starting to stretch alot, buttt after a year and a half of continuous games and lots of bullpens I guess that is what is going to happen.

Every Akadema I've seen has been a great glove. I have the cheapest catchers glove they make and it's lasted for 3 years and still soft. I love the pocket. My buddy has the custom infielders glove and that is one of the best gloves I've seen. Another one of my buddies has the outfielders mitt with the pinky and ring finger in one. I really like that glove too. I never like Wilson because they are way too stiff. Rawlings is the same way. They take forever to break in. I'd say Mizuno and Akadema break is real fast and Akadema makes great outfield mitts.

Akadema APM-41 Precision Kip Series 33" Baseball Catcher's Mitt, is what my son is using. I have gotten a lot of other glove but the Akadema company seem like a good quality company and glove. Yes I have talked to them over the phone. They will bend over backwards to help you.

I bought my son their Prodigy Series First Base Mitt this year. I have to say that I am really impressed with the leather and design for a youth glove. From a customer service standpoint, they were topshelf to deal with. They turned me on to a supplier that was very helpful and took the time to explain the way to tell what year the glove was produced.

I use their professional line 12" pitcher's glove and have to say that it is customized for pitchers with padding where needed and the finger sleeve. It was stiff in the beginning but has broken very well. I am one that likes my glove to retain it's shape for a long time. Can't stand the flimsy glove. So a stiffer glove on the onset is what I like.
No problems with Akadema here. I guess it would all depend on what type glove you get. I know another teammate that has the mantis outfield glove and has used it for over 3 years with no breakdown and he loves it.
Hope you find what you want. I also use Glovesmith Custom gloves and swear by them."Remember, 90% of the game is half mental" - Yogi Berra

I have an Akadema precision kip 102 that I use for third base. It's rated at 12", but it is really an 11 3/4" glove. They are tight-fitting gloves that are not oil injected. They will take a while to break in. They are also very conservative on their padding, to say the least(something I prefer since I have no problem finding the pocket). So, the glove is also very light. The windings are first class, and very thick on the kip series. The overall quality is better than I would expect for a $140 glove. The Kip series IF have medium pockets, and are roundish. So even the 102 makes a great 3rd base glove. I am considering replacing my 11.25 Nokona with something similar as I also play second. The problem for me is the Akadema kip gloves make most other pro gloves feel heavy and over-padded.

Once it's broken in, though, it fits like a ... uh ... glove .. er ...
