    No they are not. I have one of the sliding braces as well. They are 2 totally different things.

    Yes, a number of MLB players wear them. Not sure if the Nike model is available off the rack, I use the same thing made by Pro Orthopedic out of Arizona. A google search should yield their info. Cost just under 30 for a pair.
