  • New Swing Footage.. Help Please

    Hey there,

There's actually quite a few different stances and swings, not too different just slight adjustments. Tell me what you think, which ones are effective/innefective etc.

    Cheers.

good swing , but it looks like your golfing the low balls instead of tilting the upper body.

Does your body posture set up the angles you see before and during the swing on these MLB hitters?

It's bascially a pretty good swing. Your feet are very close together as you rotate. I think you should be wider. Compare your leg angles to the big boys. Don't over-do it. Just widen maybe 4 to 6 inches.

Also, you should bend the back leg a little more to get better force applied to your torso to rotate it. Again, just a little bit. Other than that, your rythm looks pretty good.

Keep your head under control and centered better. The generic term is; "stay back, and stay balanced."

Anyone think he vertically loads well or hits the low ball similar to elite hitters?

Im thinking you need more upper body tilt on the low balls.

Some people say this. That you have to stay stacked.

                  They're wrong.

I'm thinking you have a gift for under statement.

Did he hit any of the low balls well?

                      I don't think so.

Bottom wrist hinge angle is something to look at as well, especially on the swings in the second half of the video.

                        Regards,

                        Scott

Wait... So what are you guys trying to say? The low balls are a problem? (which I already thought was) How should I fix this? what is this wrist hinge thing?

I'm not at MY computer right now, so the best I can get from the youtube video is this still - and it took 15-20 tries to stop it there.

I can convert this to mp4 tomorrow so we can see in slomo.

But I think I agree w/ Jim - pretty nice, athletic swing. But widen the stance.

Even tho his hands are pretty far from his body, maybe he DOES have some posture on the low balls? If he had a wider stance on this swing, he might just have enough posture to keep his hands nearer his body?

Some of the better swings imo were when he started the bat on his shoulder. That helps with sequencing the swing imo. He needs to go back as a unit. That has helped my swing tremendously!
