tisting9, although some kids maybe lazy, I find that most kids playing sports are far from that and it is my guess that since you are looking for help in getting better and increasing your velocity, you are far from lazy, but just believe that you must increase your velocity immediately and are looking for help to do so.

As a freshman at 5'11" and 150 lbs. you are young and still have some growing and filling out to do. Being a freshman throwing in the "high 70's" is about where most kids are for your age and body stature.

You may want to search out a pitching coach in your area who can look at your mechanics to see if they are correct so as not to cause arm problems as you get older if you are throwing incorrectly.

My son is not a pitcher, but has been using the Jaeger Sports Bands and Program for about 5 months now and has definitely increased arm strength and relieved some proximal forearm pain he was experiencing the beginning of the college season.

Now, also understand that there are those here who have bagged the Jaeger Program (as they do just about anything brought up here, even kids asking for help), but it worked for my son is all I can say.

Tisting keep working hard and keep asking questions, it's refreshing to find young men your age who don't think they "know it all" already and will still turn to others for help.

    Good luck to you,
    MV9

i agree with your first part but google and yahoo searches are horrible in a lot of ways. You get links to some terrible information at times.

Tist, Don't be so lazy and expect all the answers to be handed to you. Why should the same people post all the same information again? Do a little work. There are several threads on this board regarding velocity. You won't have to work very hard to find them. You could even go outside this board and do a Yahoo or Google search.

Tist there are people out there who specialize in this. I would contact them. I recommend Bill Peterson of RPM pitching. I saw his work and the result of his work.

    started a topic Velocity

    Velocity

I am a high school freshman, 5'11" and 150 lbs, and was wondering what I could do to maximize my velocity. I throw in the high 70s.
