I don't like the Baums, either. They just feel like a heavy plastic bat, to me.

Currently, I have a Brett Bros Maple Master and love it. The thing I like most about the Maple Master is that it is ONE PIECE of wood (not a "composite" of multiple layers/materials/species). It still has the fiberglass wrap on it so it won't break (easily), and it feels/sounds absolutely wonderful when hitting with it. A couple of my players own the Bamboo/Maple, and the team has a couple of Bamboo Dragons and a Wulfman. No complaints, all holding up very well, so far...:crossfingers:

The thing I don't like about the DeMarinis is that they are basically a metal handle with wood over it (kind of defeats the whole purpose of a wood bat..?), but you can't argue with the durability factor that brings to the table. These do make a nice "cage bat", though - especially if you're hitting the rubber balls.

The thing with the LS is that it is completely encased in fiberglass, and therefore you don't really get much "feel" with it (again, it's more like swinging a piece of plastic - but it's still better than a Baum). You also don't get the nice sharp "crack" you normally get out of a wood bat, it's more of a loud sharp "thud". I also know of a few friends that have had them break on them...but then again, they are made of wood.

    Hope that helps.

well ive owned the Demarini composite since about September of 07' and it has just now started to wear out on me and that was because the handle(which is a type of hard foam) has started to come apart from the bat

        Brett Bros

I use the Brett Brothers composites for my team bats. They are very durable. We only broke 1 out of the 5 bats we purchased and that didnt break until the end of the playoffs with multiple players using the bat.

I have never been steered wrong with LS...their compsites are some of the best I have felt...feels like real wood...with a bit more pop maybe

Seriously I have never had better customer support or product than LS...I would seriously consider them.

I don't like baums a whole lot but they are decent. The one I think feels pretty light is the demarini and seems to be a decent composite. I do prefer a nice hard wood bat though ... have the all might sambat myself hasn't broken in a while..good thing too that thing costs about $110.

Are you looking for a composite to use in the game or just for cage hitting? Because they are some really cheap cage bats that are composite that are plenty good to swing. But I have a baum bat and I love it... I actually have two of them and am selling one because you only need one baum bat haha, if anyone is interested let me know!!

                    59fifty,

i got the combat maple hybrid on eBay.
                    it was the cheapest one!

when i saw it i was thrilled and immediatley bought it.
the guyselling it must have been a worker for combat.
it should come in the mail very soon.

and i am planning to use it in cage and games.

i have noticed my LS comp,
the stuff on the inside, the woven stuff, is all bendy and wavy.
                    its pretty cool.

& CHECK OUT MY OTHER POST ON THE AKADEMA AND COMBAT METAL BATS.
