  • help on the curveball

I could use some advice on how to throw a good curve ball. Right now I am locating my fastball great and I have a good circle-change, but I just have to get the curve ball right. When I throw it it usually hangs above the strike zone or bounces before the plate. Is there any advice anyone could give me?

    Thanks

We would have to see you pitch. If your curve is flat you could be gripping the ball incorrectly or thowing it from the wrong angle. You should be coming through 12/6 or 11/5. The higher the angle the more downward bite the pitch will have.

Try moving your fingers back more ontop of the "horseshoe" and let the ball get out in your fingers more - like a fastball. Also, don't "snap" your wrist. Lock it, and pull down on the "front" of the ball.

Your probably not getting on top of it. When your hand comes through your and should seem as if your karate chopping and then snap hard and finish aggressively. Remember, the more rotaton (top spin) you get on the ball the bigger the break will be.
