  • Hand Torque

    Jack writes:

Normally, when I speak of torque (BHT and THT), I am referring to the forces applied at the handle of the bat that causes the bat-head to rotate around the hands
Coaches should experiment with hand torque applied to the barrel and how it affects the swing.

If the rear foot pushes forward and the lead leg pushed backwards you rotate the hips

If you pull the knob forward and the barrel backwards then the bat rotates around the hands.

DIXON said carrying the torso defies gravity. Others say moving the middle moves the legs and not visa versa. They say the hands don't torque the bat handle

    Interesting physics.

What I can't figure out is why anyone would ever quote Jack Mankin.

Lets see if we can build a better set of facts and experiences than that Ohfer. The man has sold enough Final Arc tapes to go trout fishing. Good stuff.

trying to build a case for hand set, more vertical bat for two reasons

          1. Stop getting the bat trapped

          2. Cocking the bat BHUT can allow the application of hand torque on the knob that creates another rotation center around the hands to develop. Jack did some good work here

Flat bats cannot torque the bat handle as easily. Depending on pure flail is risky.

          Dixon sold some books too

1 Does not lead to 2. 2 does lead to bat lag, drag.

The demand was so high for his book, he is now selling them again. Have you actually read Dixon?

Your swing thoughts and posts are becoming more and more into focus.

You either don't have the ability to understand Dixon?

                    Or

You refuse to because it doesn't fit your religion.

I see you haven't asked HG yet if he pulls with his fingers back toward the catcher to intiate his swing.

I also haven't seen you ask him if he uses his bottom hand to torque the bat by pulling the shoulder around to the catcher. How that represents torque, I'll never know.

Let's see.....you stated that the bat can be pulled by the knob or whipped and you don't like pulled by the knob, so that leaves whipping...............Mankin is 180degrees from whipping. Says there is no whip in the baseball swing.

This is a list of his beliefs.......none of which are accurate........yet he can go fishing.................sell enough HTH's (Hand's Trapped Hitter; or more accurately called LTUT; Load Today, Unload Tomorrow) and you can fish with him.

But, don't confuse "going fishing" with selling the truth.

Your losing it Ohfer. You think in absolutes. You cannot put the pieces together from multiple sources. You cannot test them ( although I like your swing better than Nymans). You probably could test them but your afraid they might work

Well, at least we have seen Ohfor's work. All we have to go on with you is your word, when we can understand it.

Sorry...his sons HS swing was better. Post them anywhere and ask people to chose ....don't take my word for it.

I know that's what you think. When do we get to compare the swings you have devloped to what Ohfor has developed?
