Update;
Played his first fall game today. Pitched the last 4 outs. Came in with bases loaded in the 8th with 2 outs. Struck out that batter.
Struck out 3 gave up one hit.
They had a gun on the scoreboard. He said his fastball was sitting on 87 and 88 consistently.
Very good first game of the year. Sad I had to miss it but work you know....

Everyone and I mean everyone said he was too small and he would never do it.
The hat is for him. I wish I could get him more but I can't. After all he has achieved an "impossible" goal in his life.
Yea little proud.

Doesn't matter how many have hit 90. All that matters, to me, is after all these years he still has the fire to put the effort in to reach the goal.
As far as busting my bubble? I know he'll never play pro. Hey it was a few months ago he was kicked off his team, out of school and sleeping 20 hours a day.
No my bubble won't get burst.
I'll be the first to admit, especially early in this thread, I bragged way to much. But I've also told the truth and posted about the bad times as well. Before you accuse me of bragging to everyone about 90 just know it has nothing to do with actually hitting 90mph. It's about the effort to reach the goal.
As far as the hat? I always told him I would buy him a new truck if he ever hit 90. I can't. So, I bought a stupid hat.

And I guess now you've finally found the answer to our question of some 10+ years....."Do you think Radar guns can be a valuable tool to use?"
Right about now, I thinking you're answer to that is a big fat....."!!YES!!".
So happy for you, and little Sparks....a well deserved, and hard earned accomplishment for all of the trials, and tribulations you've both encountered along your journeys. :applaud::applaud:
PS. Wear your hat proudly, but just be remember to be humble when describing what it means to you should someone ask. Which I have no doubt you will.In memory of "Catchingcoach" - Dave Weaver: February 28, 1955 - June 17, 2011
