Running, often overlooked, is great for your whole body, not just your legs.
Long toss, is a good method to strengthen your throwing arm
Push-Ups are good too.
I'm a sophmore who plays high school baseball and though weight lifting is often emphasized by coaches, I don't agree with much of it (some is alright) until you are atleast a junior. but again that's just me
Batting Cage, nothing is better than actually hitting on a regular basis. Give me a guy who hits 4 days a week during the off season (no weight lifting) compared to a guy who weight lifts 4 days a week (no batting practice). Come try outs I GUARANTEE the guy takin batting practice will have a better shot at making the team.
So work out often, do running, but most importantly get into the batting cage and also try to get in some long toss.

What about the guy who Lifts 4 days a week and hits 6 days a week, eats right, suppliments right, gets enough rest and works hard in the classroom? A recipe for a scholarship. Be careful with the running aspect. Unless you are a pitcher, I would stay away from distance running. It will make you slower, because you are training slow twitch muscle fibers. Focus on fast twitch movemnts..ie plyos, sprinting up stairs, sprints with resistance this type of stuff.

Baseball Workouts
Here's a link to some free online videos of baseball pitching workouts at a pitching Web site: http://www.thecompletepitcher.com/pages/23/index.htm.
Even though these workouts are designed for pitchers, they can be of benefit for all position players because "throwing" is required at every position--even first base!
Cheers
