  • It's time for lessons

I have a 10yr old son playing LL majors in a very competitive league. He is a good player but is starting to get frustrated at the plate. He will be facing 90% of the time VERY good 12yr old pitching and he wants to be ready.

I am looking for pitching and hitting lessons. Any ideas on what direction to go?

Anyone have any look with online coaching?

It seems local coaching is all knob to the ball top down type. It also seems to work, but you come on here and find out that's not a good technique.

First game is in a week, is it to late to start? Will private lessons just confuse things?

    Thanks,
    Tim

About the only way is through personal references. Otherwise, you just have to take a lesson, watch carefully, and see if it is an instructor you want to stay with. By coming here, you've probably already learned enough to know what you want out of a coach. As to the last question concerning confusion, I usually treat it as follows with my students. If you're this close to the season and your just tinkering a little, no problem. If you're completely overhauling a swing then get them on a schedule and have them put away the lessons for the game for awhile.

In readin it, I can see I wasn't too clear in the last post. I tell them to put the lessons in a box and don't apply the lessons until they're ready. I hope that makes sense.
