A lot of players do this. Even some pros. usually the upper spine is tilted more than the lower spine. that is the lateral tilt in the spine. golfers have that too.

I think his problem is that he drops the hands and front elbow. his head position is a bit extreme though. he should try to keep it a little more upright although nearly no pro keeps it completely upright.

I've heard others say have the player swing in front of a mirror and watch themselves and tell them to keep their head straight. Somehow, it's much easier to keep the head straight when looking in a mirror and that corrects for much of it.

It's tough to judge from a dry swing.
    Though, BTW, I prefer swing # 1.

But hitting the ball squarely is a "problem" for all hitters.
Compared to your baseball peers, how reliably do you solve the problem of making hard contact in games?

In other words-- is there really a problem?
If yes, let's wait for you to provide video of live swings.

    Swing planing issues--TOO much uppercut?

Planing pitches properly and hitting them squarely has always been a problem of mine--when I'm on, I can hit hard line drives, but when I'm not on, it's usually hit in the air or on the ground kind of weakly. I decided to videotape myself a few days ago, and it looked like I was dropping my hands too much. The next day I went to my local baseball facility to get some instructor guy there to pitch to me, but my dad encouraged me to just get a lesson from him....so I did. Little did I know, but the guy was a "swing down to the baseball, A-C swing, extend your arms" kind of guy, but either way, I decided to try his advice and see what would happen. I wasn't hitting from the tee very well before he started instructing me, but somehow after he was instructing me with his linear techniques, I started hitting the ball better. :noidea

So I have these two videos here--one is what I was doing the day before the lesson, and the second one is me just swinging the way I normally would vs. me swinging the way he taught me yesterday. Can you help critique my swing? I think I maybe I'm uppercutting the ball TOO much, so the "swing down" cue helped me stop a little bit...but I don't know. Any comments/critiques?

There's quite a few swings in each video, so you don't have to watch all of them--don't bore yourself. :P
