  • Drills to keep hitter from getting out on front leg?

We have three or four kids on our team that are bad about shifting 80% of their weight to their front leg after their swing. They are not making contact because of it.

What are some good drills to help 5-7 year olds break this habbit?

They probably just need some basic rotational instruction. Make sure they 'coil' as they stride.

yes. often they will lose that coil before the front foot lands. If you are coiled the back leg will be loaded.
I now have my own non commercial blog about training for batspeed and power using my training experience in baseball and track and field.
